One of the easiest ways to earn a little money if you are doing HVAC replacement is through rebates. Most local utilities offer excellent rebate programs that many homeowners fail to take advantage of. Generally rebates are structured around the replacement of your old air conditioning system or heat pump. Utilities reward you for improvements in energy efficiency by offering rebates as high as $200.
JEA
The Jacksonville Electric Authority has a fantastic rebate program called ShopSmart. And now, that program is even better! For a limited time, homeowners are eligible for up to $200 in rebates for replacing your old HVAC systems. FPL
If you are a Florida Power and Light business customer, you too can take advantage of incentives. The incentives can apply whether you are installing, replacing or upgrading an existing system, but certain conditions do apply. Tax Credits
The federal government also has a tax credit program that offers up to 30% of the cost of installation on certain systems with no cap on how much these systems cost. Clay Electric Cooperative
If you live in Clay County, Clay Electric offers one of the broadest rebate programs you'll find on everything from insulation to water heaters to heat pumps. FPU
